A class of symmetry transformations a type originally introduced in nonlinear optics context is used here to isolate an integrable Ermakov-Painlev´e II reduction resonant NLS equation which encapsulates system cold plasma physics descriptive the uniaxial propagation magneto-acoustic waves.
